My role with Cheshire Hockey

From November 2022 through March 2024, I documented the journey of the Cheshire Hockey team, translating their season into compelling visual narratives.

Key Projects:

This experience was instrumental in honing my craft as a storyteller, videographer, and editor. I was granted exceptional access to the team, where I captured unique moments and perspectives often unseen by the public.

Navigating the high-speed, energetic environment of hockey cinematography provided invaluable experience in thinking creatively under pressure and capturing compelling footage on the fly.

2024 Cheshire Hockey Playoff Documentary

"Made It To March" is a documentary that follows the Cheshire Hockey team through their historic 2024 playoff run, a season marked by their successful pursuit of redemption following a first-round exit the prior year.

The film documents the team’s ultimate triumph, resulting in the capture of both the SCC and CIAC State Championship titles. My goal for this project was to create a permanent visual archive of these victories for players, families, and fans to be able to relive for years to come. This story was a blast to cover and will forever be an experience I was thankful to be a part of.

2024/25 Cheshire Hockey Social Media Content

During the 2024-25 season, I developed and executed the social media content strategy for the Cheshire Hockey team's Instagram, focusing on short-form videos to drive follower growth.

A core component involved filming and editing game highlights during intermissions/post-game, a strategy I implemented to provide immediate access to key plays for fans and players helping drive engagement.

Successfully delivering timely content in this high-tempo environment cultivated extensive time management skills and demonstrated an ability to work effectively under pressure, resulting in enhanced page engagement with typical video views ranging from 1,000 to 7,000.

Make It To March: Cheshire Hocey Documentary Series

For the 2022-23 Cheshire Hockey season, I served as a key producer alongside Ken Dixon from GottaLoveCTHockey on a season-long behind-the-scenes documentary series.

Tasked with providing viewers an authentic portrayal of the high school hockey journey, the series aimed to capture the full spectrum of a season through visual narrative, supporting GottaLoveCTHockey's goal of growing the sport of hockey in Connecticut.

My role encompassed end-to-end production responsibilities for the project, significantly advancing my skills while benefiting from exceptional team access and coach/player trust.

  • Responsibilities: Comprehensive season filming, script development, post-production editing, and timely YouTube distribution.

  • Skills Developed: Visual Storytelling, Videography, Editing, Directing.

  • Opportunity Highlights: Invaluable access to the team, high level of trust from coaches, opportunity to portray the program positively and inspiringly.
