Quinnipiac University Videographer & Editor

During my two years with Quinnipiac's Marketing Department, I significantly developed my videography and editing skills through diverse, hands-on experience. My responsibilities involved capturing a wide range of university life and key initiatives, including:

  • Campus Events: Filming concerts, sporting events, community service activities, and more.

  • Student & Alumni Spotlights: Creating content highlighting individual stories, including contributions to the "Ambition Unleashed" campaign.

  • New Facilities: Documenting milestones like the Recreation and Wellness Center grand opening and producing overview videos.

  • University Experience: Capturing various aspects of student and staff life across campus.

Project: Quinnipiac Recreation and Wellness Center Overview Video

  • Objective: To create an engaging overview video showcasing Quinnipiac's new, state-of-the-art Recreation and Wellness Center to prospective students, highlighting its positive impact on the college experience.

  • Focus: The video emphasized the center's role in supporting the mental and physical health of students, faculty, and staff, featuring its modern amenities and versatile spaces.

  • My Role: I managed the video production from concept to completion, including planning the narrative, filming the facility, and editing the final piece to effectively communicate the center's benefits.

Project: Alumni Spotlight - Alex Everett & The Pittsburgh Pirates

  • Objective: To produce a video spotlight showcasing how Quinnipiac University contributed to the career success of alumnus Alex Everett in his role with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

  • Focus: The piece centered on Alex Everett, detailing his professional journey with the Pirates and highlighting the foundational experiences gained during his time at Quinnipiac.

  • My Role: I served as a Production Assistant for this project, which involved filming on location in Pittsburgh. My responsibilities included supporting story development, assisting with filming logistics, and contributing to creative elements throughout the production process. It was a valuable opportunity to be part of an off-campus shoot

Project: Baja SAE Overview 

  • Objective: To create a compelling video showcasing the Quinnipiac Baja SAE team, detailing the process of designing and building their vehicle, and highlighting the significant experiential learning benefits for student members.

  • Focus: The final edit integrated interview footage with dynamic B-roll from the Baja competition, illustrating the journey from initial concept and construction through to the challenges and successes of the competition itself.

  • My Role: I served as the Editor for this project. This involved sorting through a large volume of footage and constructing the narrative entirely in post-production. My responsibility was to weave together the technical aspects and student experiences into a cohesive and engaging story.

Project: Wake The Giant Concert - Flo Rida & Offset 

  • Objective: To capture the vibrant atmosphere and overall experience of Quinnipiac's major annual student concerts for promotional and archival use.

  • Focus: Documenting both the high-energy performances by headline artists (Offset, Flo Rida) and the enthusiastic reactions and experiences of the student audience.

  • My Role: As the designated Videographer for both concerts, my responsibility was to provide comprehensive visual coverage. This involved capturing the entire show using a variety of creative shots, including tight angles on performers and wide views of the crowd, to effectively showcase the excitement and atmosphere of attending these events.

Project: Ambition Unleashed - Fontaine Chambers 

  • Objective: To produce a documentary-style video detailing alumna Fontaine Chambers' journey to becoming a lawyer, emphasizing the foundational role Quinnipiac University played in helping her achieve her professional aspirations.

  • Focus: The narrative explored Fontaine's background prior to attending Quinnipiac and traced how her university experiences contributed to her successful path into the legal field, presenting a powerful personal success story.

  • My Role: Serving as both Videographer and Editor, I was involved in shaping the visual narrative. This included filming relevant B-roll of Fontaine in her work setting and around campus, followed by editing the collected interviews and footage to construct a compelling and inspiring story.

Project: Battle of Whitney Ave

  • Objective: To capture the unparalleled excitement and unique atmosphere of Quinnipiac's biggest annual sporting event – the "Battle of Whitney Ave" hockey game against Yale – primarily for promotional content aimed at prospective students.

  • Focus: Coverage concentrated on filming the high-stakes game action, the energy of the sold-out crowd packed with students and fans, and the overall vibrant student experience unique to this rivalry game.

  • My Role: Serving as a Videographer for this event across multiple years, I was tasked with capturing dynamic footage that encapsulated the intensity of the game, the electric atmosphere in the arena, and the passionate student spirit that makes this the university's most anticipated game.

Project: Around Bobcat Nation - Welcome Week 2023

  • Objective: Provide a comprehensive overview of the first week of the semester experience at Quinnipiac University.

  • Focus: Capture the diverse events and authentic student interactions during Welcome Week.

  • My Role: I served as a videographer for this project, moving around campus to capture the various events taking place. My focus was on filming authentic, candid footage to effectively showcase the student experience during their first week at QU.

Project: Ambition Unleashed - Janine’s Story

  • Objective: Tell Janine's story, highlighting her life before Quinnipiac and how her decision to attend the university helped her discover her identity and life goals.

  • Focus: Showcase Janine's personal journey and the transformative impact of her Quinnipiac experience.

  • My Role: As the primary editor for this project, I was responsible for piecing together the voice-over narration and B-roll footage. I also incorporated archival photography to provide context to Janine's life before her time at Quinnipiac. My work ensured a clear and easy-to-understand story structure for the documentary.
